At this moment I do not think that the economic situation is affecting me because i am still making money, and managing it the same way as I always have without any problems, however when I go for my next student loan, the economic situation will probably make it harder for me to fined a loan (especially without a co-signer.)

Because I work at Subway and McDonald’s the biggest effect the current economy has on me is that people might stop eating out as much, which will decrease the amount of hours I will be given, which will result in a much smaller pay check .

I have not changed any of my spending habits due to the serious economic situation, nor do I plan on it, because I have always saved the majority of my money, so I have more then enough to get me by if I can't work for a few months, and I hate spending money so I never spend it unless I have to.

Tierney Cahill

I cant say that Tierney Cahill’s message of “Living without Fear” inspires me right at this moment in my life. Don't get me wrong I think it is a great message that goes along with a terrific story, and I fined it to be especially interesting since I am going to be a teacher, and it will probably inspire me to do some very unique activities with my students when the time comes.

I can be an inspiration to others by teaching, as Tierney Cahill did, granted more then likely I will not be as big of an inspiration as she has been, because I could never do anything so impressive, but when you become a teacher you are bound to influence many children.

And, I can not say that I now have the courage to do something I did not have before after hearing Cahill's story, because I am not afraid of going after what I want to do (well at least enough to prevent me from doing it anyway.)

Dead Man Walking

I have always believed in the death penalty. Although dead man walking did not change my opinion on the death penalty entirely, it did influence me to reevaluate my opinions. I originally believed that anyone who raped, or murdered someone should face the death penalty, but now I believe that only people who have committed several rapes and murders should face the death penalty. I came to this change in opinion because dead man walking made me look at these criminals as people, not just murderers, after all everyone makes mistakes, and even though murder and rape are huge "mistakes" they should not be killed just for one terrible act of violence, but should be placed in prison for the rest of their life.

I think that it is important for activities and assignments in your college courses challenge your previous opinions because college is supposed to be a time where we grow as a person, in our opinions, and become more educated, and a big part in doing this is to challenge your opinions, and in by doing so you become more educated in those beliefs, you may not change your opinions, but you will no longer have those opinions out of ignorance but out of a well educated point of view.

Poor preparation

There are a great deal of students not being prepared for their college classes, I don't think that this is a new concept for most students, I think that they are just fallowing a pattern that they started back in their first years of education. I also fined that student fined it to be sort of a game; they laugh and make comments to friends about how well they are doing in a class, even though they have never read any of the required material, or studied for a tests. I think that this cannot just be blamed on how lazy the youth of America is, but should also be blamed on their teachers. If teachers were more strict, and placed more penalties for not being prepared then students would have no choice but to be more prepared.
